(Counsellor in Herne Bay • Canterbury • Online Across the UK)
Hello, I’m Tanya
I’m a trauma‑informed, integrative counsellor based in Herne Bay, working with adults, young adults and children in the Canterbury area and online across the UK. My work is grounded in warmth, presence and a deep respect for the parts of you that have learned to survive, cope and keep going even when life has felt overwhelming.
I believe therapy is not about fixing what’s “wrong” with you.
It’s about gently unfolding the parts of yourself you’ve had to tuck away, silence or harden just to get through. My role is to walk alongside you as you reconnect with your inner steadiness, your voice and your sense of self.
How I Work
My approach is relational, intuitive and paced around your nervous system. I weave together:
-
grounded therapeutic conversation
-
practical emotional understanding
-
somatic and nervous system awareness
-
the deep rest and release offered by sound‑based therapeutic work
-
creative and reflective processes when helpful
This allows us to work with the whole of you mind, body, emotions and the quieter spaces in between.
I don’t push, force or rush.
Instead, I offer stability, curiosity and space so you can explore what feels difficult in a way that feels safe and manageable.
Why I Do This Work
I’ve always been drawn to the places where people feel unseen, unheard or overwhelmed. I know how heavy it can be to carry everything alone, and how transformative it is to finally have a space where you can soften, breathe and be met with gentleness.
The Unfolding Path grew from my belief that healing happens in relationship in the moments where you feel understood, supported and no longer have to hold everything by yourself.

A Space to Become More Fully You
Therapy with me is a gentle invitation to return to yourself not the version shaped by pressure, expectation or survival, but the one that feels true, grounded and whole.
If you feel drawn to this way of working, I’d be honoured to walk alongside you.
